An ENDMARK is used to END A SENTENCE.
Every sentence must end in an ENDMARK.
What are the different type of ENDMARKS?
#1 – PERIOD .
Use this to end a statement.
EXAMPLE
He walked the dog.
** Some usage pointers
If the sentence ends with an abbreviation, do not add another period.
EXAMPLE
I live in the U.S.A.
If the sentence ends with a title that end in a ? or a !, do not add a period.
EXAMPLE
I love the film, Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf?
#2 – EXCLAMATION POINT !
Use this to when you want to add emphasis or exclaim something
EXAMPLE
He hit a homerun!
** Do not abuse the EXCLAMATION POINT!
** It is usually only needed in dialogue.
#3 – QUESTION MARK ?
Use this when you ask a question
EXAMPLE
Where are my guinea pigs?
