CONJUNCTIONS are JOINERS
Their job is to JOIN clauses, phrases, or words together.
What are the different types of CONJUNCTIONS?
#1 – Coordinating
An easy way to remember the Coordinating Conjunction is the acronym FANBOYS
FOR – AND – NOR – BUT – OR – YET – SO
I bought a bat and a ball. (joins words)
He remembers his notebook, but he forgot his pencil. (joins clauses)
#2 – Subordinating
This conjunction is used at the beginning of a Subordinate Clause
Here is a bunch of Subordinating Conjunctions!

EXAMPLE
Before she entered the dining hall, she fixed her dress and laced her shoes.
The dog will not enter the house unless the cat is caged.
#3 – Correlating
These conjunctions always come in pairs.
Both + And / Not only + But also / Either+ Or / Neither + Nor / Whether+ Or
Not only will she visit the farm this summer, but she will also build a new shed while she is there.
Either I go, or she goes!
